Test and Assessment for students

Learning can be fun. Then why make tests difficult when you can bring the best of the students through paperless and digital test on the classroom.

Bringing the features of the Windows 10 Education edition with Anniversary update using the OneNote and Microsoft Forms Link to create a formative and high-stakes assessment.

The new Take a Test app helps teachers in schools and colleges to deliver high-stakes digital assessments, as well as lower-stakes formative assessments, more quickly and easily.

Setting up the App

Take a Test is easy to set up, with options that both teachers and IT staff will find familiar and efficient.

  • When in use, the Take a Test app creates a locked-down environment just for testing that only points to your online assessment page.
  • While the Take a Test is running, students are prevented from doing things that might compromise the assessment
    • opening other web pages
    • taking screenshots
    • running other applications
    • connecting additional external displays
    • using copy and paste, and so on
  • During a test, Take a Test prevents the OS from generating distractions, like pop-up toasts and notifications, and updates.

Lets see how the new Take a Test app works:

  1. Set up an account for the every student.
  2. Teacher creates the test link or the test forms for the assessment.
  3. On the test date, the student logins into his/her account and Take a Test app immediately launches after signing in.
  4. Note that there is no address bar or navigation tools, just the web content. When on this page, the student is considered to be in a locked down mode where there are no hotkey shortcuts, no ability to take a screenshot, and no ability to switch to other applications.
  5. In order to meet testing criteria, Take a Test is now running above the lock, and prevents the student from running other apps, attaching an external display, using copy and paste, or even taking screen captures.
  6. As soon as the student completes the test, the report can be displayed for the MCQ, thus saving the precious time of teachers on correcting papers.
